EZ Bar Preacher Curl Basics
Primary muscles worked: Biceps
Synergist Muscles: Brachialis, Forearms
Mechanics: Isolation
Equipment: EZ Bar and Preacher Bench
How To Perform The EZ Bar Preacher Curl
- First, adjust the preacher bench seat so that your feet sit flat on the ground.
- Now, sit on the preacher bench and grab the EZ Bar with an underhand grip. Your elbows should rest in the middle of the slant pad, or it may be more comfortable for you to have your elbows located near the top, just over the lip of pad.
- Let your arms relax to full extension with the EZ Bar in hand.
- Once this position is reached, bring your arms from full extension to a flexed state. Do this by moving your your forearms and hands towards your shoulders.
- Continue lifting until the EZ bar is about two to three inches away from your shoulders. Slowly lower your arms back to full extension when this position is reached.
EZ Bar Preacher Curl Tips
- Make sure to keep your upper arms and elbows tightly against the slant pad. This will keep your shoulders from compensating if your biceps become fatigued.
